“Shine!” Theo complained, his face reddening.
“What? Just saying.” She shrugged nonchalantly. “It’s not like you have anyone else lining up for you, right? I believe I’m the first one, so bear that in mind p>
Seriously, he had never met a shameless woman like her. Choosing to ignore her, he instead focused on the female officer.

He sighed in annoyance, frustrated by the limited information his level-one Observer’s Insight could provide. His heart raced when he noticed the female officer frowning at him.
Panic surged, and he quickly looked away, his face burning with embarrassment.
“Here, eat this. You look like you’ve been through a war zone yourself,” Lexa spoke, handing him a meal box. Then with a blank face she commented, “I’m glad to see you alive and well. Stay strong in there p>
Then she turned away, joining another soldier in distributing meal boxes to the remaining survivors on the other side.
“I’ve never seen someone give encouraging words with such a cold face. That woman is so stoic,” Shine muttered, already munching on her meal.
Theo, however, released a subtle, relieved sigh. ‘So… she does care, huh?’ Her brief words earlier, though void of emotion, implied that she was glad to see him alive and well. That was enough for him. At least, they were now on good terms… right?

“Why are you moving us to another wing?!” a man with a gray tag started complaining as the soldiers gathered them and escorting them in another direction.
“We need to follow protocol. The rest of the rescue team is at another exit. There’s a special rescue team assigned for all Meteor Survivors,” the lieutenant explained. Then, raising a brow, he added irritably, “The Awakened Meteor Survivors will be left behind here for a while. Would you like to join them instead p>
“Why are we being left behind, huh?” Rick demanded with a deep frown.
Theo remained quiet, simply observing the situation while waiting for an answer to the bald man’s earlier question.
The Commander scanned the group of people with black tags gathered around him before finally speaking. “Before we proceed with clearing the rest of the floors, the government has issued an order,” he began. “All Awakened Meteor Survivors who possess special and extraordinary abilities are being allowed to join the clearing operations p>
Murmurs of confusion and disbelief filled the air.
“The government is willing to offer generous rewards and exceptional benefits,” the Commander continued, his voice firm. “Not only for the Awakened Meteor Survivors but also for their immediate families p>
Theo glanced around, noticing the doubts and suspicions etched on everyone’s faces. He could feel the tension in the air as the Commander prepared to continue his briefing.
“Listen,” the Commander began, his voice heavy with urgency. “The meteorite incident didn’t just affect our country – it caused chaos across the world. Right now, the military’s primary goal is to isolate all infected hospitals and eliminate the MB Infectees before they spread outside… but in all honesty,” he paused, his gaze hardening, “there’s no guarantee we’ll succeed p>
A ripple of unease swept through the crowd.
“You’ve all seen the kind of monster we faced earlier,” the Commander pressed on. “Those things aren’t like the regular Infectees. They’re faster, stronger, and harder to kill. Our standard weapons, like this rifle,” he raised it for everyone to see, “won’t be enough to stop them p>
The weight of his words began to sink in, and the crowd exchanged fearful glances.
“And that’s exactly why the government has now formed a special task force called AMSO – Awakened Meteor Survivor Order,” the Commander announced, his voice firm. “This is the official organization created to recruit, train, and deploy Awakened Meteor Survivors like yourselves to help control the crisis. People who have awakened special abilities after the meteorite impact are now being called Awakened Meteor Survivors or AMS p>
The murmurs grew louder, filled with hesitation and disbelief.
“The government believes that AMS are humanity’s best shot at survival,” the Commander continued. “Your bodies have been altered in ways that surpass normal human limits. You’ve seen it yourselves – extraordinary strength, healing, and abilities beyond human comprehension. This isn’t something to fear. It’s something that could save lives p>
“But why would the government suddenly offer benefits?” Rick asked skeptically.
The Commander met his gaze without flinching. “Because you’re valuable. Every single one of you who has awakened has the potential to change the tide of this disaster. Like I said, in return for your service, the government is offering high financial support, protection, housing privileges, and elite status for not just you – but your immediate families as well p>

“You’ll undergo proper training, combat handling, and learn to control your abilities under AMSO,” the Commander pressed. “We’ll ensure you’re equipped to fight alongside the military to eliminate Infectees and Meteorborn. In return, your families will be secured p>
“And what happens if we refuse?” Rick spoke up again, his voice thick with doubt. “If I understand this right, you’re basically asking us to risk our lives and fight without even giving us proper training first p>
His words struck a chord with the other survivors, murmurs of agreement rippling through the crowd. Fear and uncertainty were evident in their faces – after all, not everyone was prepared to jump into a battle they barely understood.
The Commander turned to face Rick, his expression firm. “I understand your concern, but the reality is – we don’t have the luxury of time. Every second we waste here, more Infectees are multiplying, and worse… Meteorborn, like the one you saw earlier, are appearing. If we don’t act now, it’s not just this hospital at risk – it’s the entire city p>
“But that’s not fair!” someone from the crowd protested. “We didn’t ask for this p>
“No one did,” the Commander countered, his voice laced with urgency. “But you’ve all been given abilities far beyond ordinary humans. You may not realize it now, but you can make a difference – to protect not only yourselves but your loved ones and every innocent life out there p>
