Nine: [Can you get me more of the sleep meds? Make it double this time.]
The first couple of days after she started taking them, she didn’t have full-blown insomnia, but her sleep was still a mess. Honestly, being around Anthony was the best cure for her sleepless nights, but she still had over ten days of training left and couldn’t exactly crawl into his bed every night. Not that she had any self-control around Anthony, anyway.
Jackson: [Got it, Charlotte. I’ll have the lab handle it tonight and bring it to you tomorrow.]
Adonis saw the messages and frowned. Charlotte, the sleep meds were tailored for your level of insomnia. They’re supposed to get more effective the longer you use them, not the other way around. Especially since you’ve worked through your old issues and you have Anthony with you now. Things should be getting better, not
worse.
If she wanted a higher dose, did that mean her insomnia was getting worse? That didn’t add up.
Adonis: [Charlotte, maybe you should get a quick check-up. It’d help figure out why your symptoms are getting worse.]
Nine: [I’m fine. Just do what I said.]
Adonis: [Okay.]
Charlotte was a doctor herself. If anything was off with her body, she’d know it before anyone else.
A few minutes earlier, Anthony had sent her a message: [Come stay at my place tonight. Get some real rest, okay?]
Charlotte couldn’t help thinking about what Adonis said. Why were her symptoms getting worse? Anthony wasn’t exactly a cure for her. If anything, he was an addiction that had gone bone-deep.
She missed him. More than she wanted to admit.

Once she finished with Charlotte, Stella would be next.
Olivia just listened, a small smile hiding in her eyes.
That would be perfect. Let the Blair family see what Charlotte was really like underneath it all. There was no way a family like that would ever accept someone with no real background like Charlotte.
