The morning sun was soft and golden. After breakfast, Anthony drove Charlotte to school himself.
In the car, Charlotte curled up in her seat, her long legs stretched out and resting on Anthony’s lap. She swayed them gently, looking completely at ease while watching a video on her phone.
On the screen, last year’s “Cabinda University Medical Exchange” was playing. Letty, the star student, was front and center, guiding her classmates through a simulated surgery. Fifteen schools had joined the event. As usual, traditional medicine didn’t get much attention. The equipment was old, the atmosphere a little tense, and by the end, every low rank on the scoreboard belonged to the traditional medicine majors.
The comments under the video were brutal. Most people were mocking traditional medicine, and a few even claimed it was pointless or just a scam.
Charlotte’s eyes cooled as she scrolled through the rankings, all topped by modern medicine students. The traditional medicine kids in the video looked so defeated.
Next to her, Anthony had an arm wrapped around her waist, half-listening as he flipped through the photos Hans had just given him. They were all snapshots from their training days at the White Whale Training Base, showing Charlotte looking at him with warmth and affection.
“Anthony, these photos came from an anonymous IP,” Hans said from the driver’s seat, sounding more formal than usual. “The sender left a message, too.”
Anthony glanced up from the photos, a smile tugging at his lips as he admired how cute Charlotte looked in the pictures. “Let’s hear it.”
Hans tried to hold back a grin and snuck a look at Charlotte, who was still glued to her video. “The message said, ‘Charlotte’s not behaving herself at the base. She’s been flirting with the coaches. Two of them, actually.””
He almost burst out laughing. Whoever sent these must not realize that the so- called “coaches” Charlotte was supposedly flirting with were actually her boyfriend and her brother.
Charlotte glanced up from her phone, her eyes landing on the photos. Not bad, she thought. The pictures weren’t half bad.
“Did you find out who took them?” Anthony asked, reaching over to pat her head in a gentle, reassuring way.
“No need.” Charlotte closed her video, switched to her camera, and casually aimed it at the two of them.
She snapped a quick selfie of them sitting close together, then-before Anthony could react-climbed onto his lap. She pressed a warm kiss to his forehead. Anthony went rigid for, a second as she kissed his eyes, his nose, then his lips, snapping a photo after each one.
In just a couple of minutes, Charlotte had packed her phone with dozens of sweet, intimate photos. In every shot, Anthony was looking at her like she was his whole world.
She finished with a quick kiss at the
corner of his mouth, then slipped off his lap and settled back into her seat, her expression back to calm and cool. She scrolled through the photos, picked the best ones and forwarded them all to the mystery sender’s email.
Hans was speechless. The sender wanted to start drama, but all they got back was
a flood of pure couple goals. That was savage.
Anthony looked a little lost.
So he was just Charlotte’s secret weapon to get back at someone? He propped his
head in his hand, his smile turning a little helpless.
Somewhere else, Olivia sat in the academic center, gripping her phone tightly. She watched Letty on stage, chatting with the new students her brows furrowed in frustration.
She had already sent the photos to Anthony. So why wasn’t he reacting at all?
