Did something still need explaining?
When his grandmother spoke, Anthony paused, his brow twitching as he thought it over for a couple of seconds. Then a small, knowing smile appeared on his lips.
He got it.
“Robert, let’s grab dinner together sometime. We can talk then.”
Robert was a bit thrown off. He just nodded, still confused, and agreed without really thinking.
The call ended, and before he could process any of it, the butler appeared at his side, holding out a beautifully crafted box.
“Mr. Gates, someone dropped this off outside. They said it’s a birthday gift, and you’re supposed to open it yourself.”
A birthday present?
He glanced outside at the line of trucks loaded with gifts. Wasn’t all that enough?
Robert took the box, still thinking about the last time Anthony visited. Back then, he’d brought a whole truckload of stuff too. This family really didn’t hold back.
He pressed his lips together, expecting some rare treasure inside. But when he opened the box, he found a thick stack of paperwork instead.
On top, the biggest letters read: Stock Transfer Agreement.
Stocks?
Robert frowned, pulling out the rest of the documents. Each one was different. There were stock transfers, real estate deeds, bank transfer records, even receipts for newly bought funds and stocks. All of it was in Lottie’s name.
Just a quick glance told him this was worth more than anyone could casually imagine. Easily over a billion.
Looking at everything, a thought struck Robert. He quickly called for the other birthday gift Anthony had sent.
He was right.
Inside, the contents were almost exactly the same as what his grandmother had sent-each box packed with personal assets.
Together, these gifts made up over half of the Blair family’s total fortune.
Anthony had just given his entire net worth to Lottie.
Kenneth stared, barely believing it. “You could probably buy half the planet with all this money.”
“Grandpa, as soon as Lottie signs, it’s all hers, no questions asked.”
Anthony squeezed Charlotte’s hand, turning to Robert with honest, open eyes. “You can’t put a price on what
Lottie means to me.

Robert looked at Anthony, voice stern. “You’re giving up everything? Once Lottie signs, you’ll have nothing left.”
“To me, nothing’s more important than her. Not money… not even my life. If she wants it, I’d give it all.”
Hearing that, Robert’s expression finally softened. Whatever doubts he had melted away.
Anthony’s attitude was clear. Patricia had spoken her mind, too. And most importantly, Lottie loved him.
“That’s enough,” Robert said quietly,
rubbing his forehead. “If you two really care about each other I’m not going to stand in your way. Just promise me you’ll treat Lottie right. That’s all I care about.”
Was that his way of giving them his blessing?
“Thank you, Grandpa.”
Anthony had expected this, but hearing Robert say it out loud still made his heart
race.
“Don’t thank me. Just get out of here. And don’t let me see you around for a while.”
Robert turned away, his back stiff with emotion.
His precious granddaughter had been swept away just like that.
