Chapter 775
“What are you staring at?”
Letty looked down at Stella, the knife in her hand pressing closer. A mocking smile curled on her lips. “Are you scared?”
Stella didn’t flinch. She just stared right back, her eyes cold and brimming with pure hatred. Not a hint of fear.
“I guess I have you to thank for all of this, huh?” Letty leaned in, her face inches from Stella’s. Her eyes were bloodshot, her expression wild. She looked like she was about to lose it. “You’re the one who set Charlotte on the Adams family. You ruined me, didn’t you?”
Stella’s gaze was stone cold. All she felt for Letty was hate.
“Afraid to die?” Letty sneered when Stella stayed silent. “If you’re so scared, call Charlotte. Isn’t she supposed to do anything for you?
If she shows up, I’ll let you go.”
“If you even think about touching Charlotte…” Stella’s eyes flicked up, barely glancing at the knife at her throat. Her voice was icy, edged with anger. “Try it and see what happens.”
“Oh, I will. Just watch.”
Letty’s eyes went hard. She slipped her hand into Stella’s pocket and yanked out her phone. “Not going to call her? Fine. I’ll do it for you.
I want to see if Charlotte saves herself or tries to protect you.”
She scrolled through the phone, laughing, her voice low and cold. “If she dares to come, she’s not leaving alive.”
The second Letty had her phone, Stella’s whole body went cold. She slowly lifted her head, her eyes turning icy.
A heartbeat later,
Stella lunged. She reached for the phone with everything she had.
She couldn’t let herself be Charlotte’s weakness again. She couldn’t let Charlotte get hurt because of her, not one more time.
“Scared now? Afraid she’ll die for you?” Letty saw the change in Stella and smiled, smug and cruel. She kept pushing. “You ever notice how everyone who cares about you ends up dead? Ever think about that?
Your mom’s gone. The friends you had at the sanatorium are gone. Next is Charlotte.”
Letty knew exactly where to hit Stella, and she went right for the wound.
Every word made Stella’s nerves
stretch tighter until Letty said,
“Charlotte’s next That broke something unside her.
“Don’t you dare hurt her!”
Letty barely heard the words before pain shot through her shoulder. She hit the floor hard.
Stella was on her, wild-eyed,
breathing hard, her voice a rough et

Ten minutes had passed since Stella went to the restroom.
Charlotte set her cup down, stood
up, and stretched. Her voice wasnet
calm. “You guys keep eating. ‘ go check on Stella”
“I’m coming too!”
Shirley wiped her mouth and hurried after her, practically bouncing as they walked to the restroom.
Just as they reached the door, a piercing scream came from inside. “Ah! Someone’s been killed in here!”
Killed?
Shirley’s heart skipped. She turned to Charlotte, eyes wide. “Charlotte…”
Before she could finish, Charlotte had already slipped through the crowd and rushed
in.
Inside, chaos.
Stella was pinning Letty to the floor.
They both had their hands on the same knife, the blade buried in Letty’s stomach.
