UNKNOWN 0 Walking away from the old fool, my grin vanished. I hated taking orders from that old buffoon. He was only a means to an end and also paid well. I headed away and walked towards my second in command, who looked amused. 0 “What did the old fool say?” Will asked, looking behind me. I stopped but didn’t look around. I knew he had his eyes on that old man. 0 “He wants us to locate the girl and kill her,” I said, which made him look at me and frown. 0 “You know this isn’t what we agreed,” he muttered. “The boss will freak—” 0 I growled, which cut him off and made him tense. 0 “I’m the boss,” I grunted. “Not him. He came to us, remember? He used that old man of hers because he liked the little pussy he had living with him. The man signed a document that said she was his. He just wants the girl.” 0 Will said nothing, but I turned around and sighed. “I can’t believe this is all because of money,” he grunted. “The boss gave that human money because he was struggling. If you ask me, it’s still stupid even though he was fooled. “That little brat doesn’t know what is coming.” 0 I huffed. 0 “Well,” I said. “She will soon meet him.” 0 We stayed quiet for a moment, but I glanced at Will and smiled. “Tellthe bossthat they want the girl dead,” I said, making Will tense. “Maybe he will have some sort of plan up his sleeve.” 0 “Why me?” he grunted. “He didn’t want to work with these fools in the first place. Only when the other man mentioned the human girl, he took an interest when the old man sent the photo of her. It will be a mess and more hassle.” 0 I looked at him and shrugged. “Not our problem.” 0 Will stared at me and frowned, but I looked away and stared at the surrounding people. 0 “You know we have our own plans,” I said, looking back at him. “If the man wants the girl, let him get her himself. We can send the address to him, and he can do what he wants with it.” 0 “Do you think he will keep her or kill her?” he asked, which only made me shrug again. That part was always up in the air when we dealt with him. It will depend on how he feels that day. 0 “Don’t have the foggiest,” I said with a sigh. “If he finds out she is mated to the alpha, things might change,” I said with concern. “Tell him everything we learned from this fool, then let me know. We can work around him and the others.” 0 Will nodded, and his face went blank. 0 Leaving him to it, I looked toward the others. I knew there was more going on with this, but I also had my hidden agenda too. 0 The pack was something I had my eye on and knowing that the old fool wanted that alpha dead made it even more worthwhile. The plan was simple: help the old fool kill the alpha. Once the alpha was dead, I only dealt with the old man and whoever imposed against me. I wanted what was mine, and that was taken away from me by another. 0 In the past, I held the position of a son to an alpha and a brother, but my circumstances took a drastic turn when I was deemed unfit and considered unsuitable for taking over. My brother forced me under his rule until I reached a breaking point and killed him in his sleep. The pack was supposed to be placed for me then, but my father had another plan. A friend of my brothers took over and sent me packing after he learned what I did. They banished me and turned me into a rogue. He didn’t want anyone to know of what I did, and couldn’t face the fact his own son would do such a thing. 0 Few know my past, not even the old fool or the boss. I keep my head down and play with others until I see an opening. So when this old fool found me, I was more than willing to help. I even devised a plan to help him, and I will stick to it, even though I am getting fed up with all the bullshit that comes with it. 0 My plan starts with taking over that pack and another until I get enough men and women to follow me. I wanted to attack my old pack and get revenge on what was once mine. I deserve to be alpha. 0 Will sighed, which pulled me back to the present and making look back at him. “Boss knows,” he muttered. “He wasn’t too thrilled about the killing of the girl and even told me to inform you he would go to the address to retrieve her himself,” Will muttered. “Tell the old man that he will see to it, but it wasn’t for him to decide.” 0 I said nothing. 0 Will stared at me but looked toward the field at the others. “When are you going to come clean about what you are?” he asked, looking back at me with a grin. “I don’t think that old fool or the boss knows you are from alpha blood.” 0 The corners of my lips curled up into a smirk. 0 “When the time is right,” I said, staring at him. “For now, we can beat a few birds with many stones.” 0 Will grinned. 0 Will was my closest friend at my old pack and what most would call a beta. He was the only one I trusted, and he knew how to keep a secret. We have joined many groups of rogues to stay hidden. The stench of our scents doesn’t give me away, only that I am a rogue. 0 The boss is clueless too. Humans call him a loan shark, but to us werewolves, he is known as the boss because he went unnoticed by getting his foot in a few doors, and I had to remain hidden. 0 Will and I stayed silent, watching everyone around us. It was only a matter of time before the boss got the girl. Once he has her, we can get on with our plan. 0 My eyes landed on the old man, who was back with his friend. A small smile played on my lips. The man who came into my life would never see it coming, and his life would never be the same. I loathed that man. He believed he was above the rest since he got here and has been barking out orders like he was in charge. Many of the rogues whispered of their distaste for him and even threatened to kill him. Killing him will be the icing on the cake for all involved, but if I want his pack, I have to make an example out of him and make it will make everyone else follow suit. 1 Rogues never have a leader. They go where the fighting, food, money, and even women are, but most of it is about the money. Either way, we all have hidden agendas when teaming up, but some are greater than others. We just have to wait and see what happens and who comes out on top when this is all over.
