Anthony might have spent most of his time in the business world, but he knew the heavyweights of the legal scene. Questlaw was a name you just didn’t forget. Hadn’t they disappeared from the spotlight a year ago? How did Lottie even get in touch with someone like that?

Just as he was trying to puzzle it out, his phone buzzed. A message from Roger.

[Did you know Lottie is Questlaw?]

Anthony stared at the screen. Lottie was Questlaw? He turned quickly to look at Charlotte, sleeping quietly on the bed. The shock hit him for just a second, then

faded away.

[Now I do,] he replied.

Roger was silent for a moment.

So it wasn’t just him who hadn’t known. That made Roger feel a little better.

[Don’t you wonder how she knows so much?] Roger sent.

[Of course,] Anthony answered. [But when she wants to tell me, she will.]

Roger didn’t know what to say to that.

It was true. If Lottie wanted them to know, she’d say something. As long as she was safe and healthy, that was all that mattered.

Conversation over, Anthony shut his phone and stood up. He glanced at Charlotte, still lying there with her eyes closed, looking so peaceful. He couldn’t help but raise a brow.

With a practiced flick, he loosened his collar, letting it fall open just a bit more. He walked over to the bed, leaned in close, and let his voice drop to a low, teasing murmur. “You really want me to go?”

Charlotte heard him and opened her eyes, slow and lazy. Whatever she saw made her eyes light up. Even after days of being sidelined by his injury, his body hadn’t lost its edge.

“Silent treatment?” Anthony grinned, clearly enjoying himself. As he leaned in, his collar slipped lower. “If you don’t say something, I’m actually going to leave.”

Just as he started to turn away, Charlotte grabbed his hand. She looked a little awkward as she muttered, “I just thought you might have trouble sleeping without me here.”

That was it. That was the only reason. It had absolutely nothing to do with Anthony’s ridiculously good body.

“Oh, is that so?” Anthony slid under the covers with her, kissed her earlobe, and laughed quietly. “You’re really just thinking about me?”

“Don’t make me kick you out of bed,” she warned, but there was no heat behind it.

Anthony brushed his fingers through her hair, then pulled her close. “Alright, no more teasing. Let’s sleep.”

She’d barely slept the last few nights. She’d picked up some new medication from the research institute today, and he hoped it would finally help.

It worked. In less than ten minutes, Charlotte was out cold.

Anthony watched her sleeping peacefully in his arms and finally relaxed At least the medicine was working for now. Still, they needed to figure out what was really causing herinsomnia, and soon.

Three days later.

The police finished their

investigation and decided Stella

wasn’t guilty of attempted murder Instead, they pressed charges against Letty for attempted murder and charged her parents with defamation.

“Stella, I heard Letty hired some famous defense attorney. You should be careful,”

the officer said as he handed her the paperwork to sign.

“These cases are tough. No security footage, no hard evidence.”

“Thank you.” Stella signed her name, then looked up and smiled, her features

lighting up. “Funny coincidence. I hired a pretty big-name lawyer, too.”

The officer blinked in surprise.

Bigger than Letty’s? Letty had flown in a top lawyer from overseas, someone with a ninety percent win rate. The Tumor was, the only times. they lost were when they went up against an actual legend in the legal world.
