“Isn’t Lyndon supposed to be overseas at a conference right now? Why did he suddenly show up in Cabinda and take a case?” The assistant couldn’t help muttering under his breath. “Questlaw’s been off the radar for ages. Maybe Lyndon knows what happened to her.”
At the mention of Questlaw, Sun’s eyes flashed with irritation. “Why are you looking for her?” His tone was sharp, almost biting. She’d made plenty of enemies after handling those international cases for Eldoria. For all he knew, someone powerful had already taken care of her quietly.
Seeing Sun’s mood shift, the assistant quickly changed the subject. “I’ll go sort through the files.”
Before Questlaw came onto the scene, Sun was practically a legend in the industry. But every time he crossed paths with her, he ended up thoroughly crushed. Around Sun, the name Questlaw was off-limits.
Sun let out a cold snort, eyes locked on the spot where Stella and Lyndon had disappeared. His gaze grew colder by the second.

Ten minutes before the hearing started, Charlotte strolled into the courthouse, completely unhurried.
She looked sharp today, dressed in a crisp white shirt and black tailored pants that made her legs look even longer. Her hair was swept up, showing off a smooth, pale forehead. Even with a mask covering most of her face, there was no hiding the cool indifference in her eyes. She had this calm, untouchable vibe, like nothing in the world could faze her.
In the waiting room, Lyndon had just finished running Stella through all the important points as her lead attorney.
As soon as Charlotte showed up, Lyndon jumped to his feet and hurried over, excitement clear in his voice. “Questlaw.”
Charlotte barely glanced at him. “You go up first,” she said quietly. “If you hit a wall, I’ll step in.”
“Me?” Lyndon hesitated, frowning. He wasn’t feeling too confident. “Questlaw, the other side has Sun.”
Sure, Sun had lost to Questlaw before, but he was still a heavy hitter. Facing him always put Lyndon on edge.
“So what if it’s Sun?” Charlotte sat on the couch, flipping through a file. “You’re one of the new stars in the legal world You’re going to see him plenty more times. Besides… he might
not even be able to keep up with you.”

“Wait, really?” Lyndon’s eyes went wide, surprised and a little touched. “Questlaw, you actually believe in me?”
Charlotte just waved him off. “Come on, get ready.”
Then she turned to Stella, giving her a gentle smile. “Don’t worry. No one who ever hurt you is getting away with it.”
Stella nodded hard, determination shining in her eyes.
The trial began. Stella, as the plaintiff, walked into the courtroom with Lyndon by her side.
Across the aisle sat Fedelia, Mahoney, and Sun, who looked as smug and self- important as ever.
When Sun caught sight of them, a mocking smirk curled on his lips. He clearly didn’t see them as a threat.
The arguments got heated fast. Sun tried to spin the whole thing, saying Letty was in a fragile mental
after getting expelled and state
bullied
online, so whatever happened was just an accident. As for Letty’s parents, even though they’d tried to tamper with the medical examiner in
Secret, Sun argued they hadn’t
actually done anything to harm the plaintiff. The gist was, Letty and her parents didn’t do anything seriously wrong.
When Lyndon pushed back, the defense fired back by bringing up
Stella’s own history of serious
mental health issues. That way, they could suggest maybe Letty ne
actually threatened her in the bathroom at all.
Stella’s hands tightened into fists in her lap when she heard that.
Both sides stuck to their guns, picking apart every argument, desperate to catch the
other out. Things quickly spiraled, the courtroom turning chaotic as both sides
fought to a standstill.
Sun had thought he’d steamroll Lyndon and wrap things up in no time.
