Where Is Serena?
‘How could Serena think she could outrun me!’ Victor roared in his head.
While his people fired upon the authorities who had threatened to come up to the tenth floor, Victor was chasing Serena.
She was now on foot, running through a maze of pallets and broken equipment.

Unfamiliar voices echoed across the same floor.

Victor’s heart was racing. He looked back. No one had seemed to come after him yet.

He ran faster and finally caught up with Serena.

Serena tried to call for help, but her mouth was still covered with tape.
Looking around, Victor panted. Then he noticed a broken section of wall at the edge of the building.
The building stood next to another one, separated by a narrow gap of barely half a meter. Down below, the space between them was filled with debris – cracked concrete, fallen beams, and protruding reinforcement steel.
“I think I saw him coming over here p>
More footsteps were coming his way, and Victor knew he had no other choice. He grabbed Serena by the shoulder and grunted, “If I go down, you are going with me!” “Mmmm p>
Victor pushed Serena through the opening, and she fell.

After taking care of Serena, he ran in another direction. He wanted to divert them from Serena’s real location, if… she ever survived the fall.
Even while he was being chased, he laughed.
He could still get out of the situation. He meant to bargain for his freedom in exchange for Serena’s location.

He bolted again, but in doing so, he bumped into a solid chest.
Victor landed on his back due to the impact, his eyes closing in the process. When

“If you let me go, I will tell you- Argh!” To his utter shock, Nathaniel thrust him down to the floor, his entire body feeling the impact.
“Sir, we can’t find her. I’m letting the drone pick up any thermal imaging,” one soldier said.
“You won’t find her! You won’t! She will die before you ever find her, Natha-Ahh!” Victor cried in pain.
Someone else had punched him. He was pinned down, someone sitting on him, ready to continue the assault.
“Where is my sister? Where is she p>
It was Silas Vander. He threw punches left and right and did not even give Victor a chance to breathe.
“Stay with Victor, Silas. I’ll find Serena,” Nathaniel declared.
“You can’t find her! Let me go, and I’ll tell you!” Victor said.
Meanwhile, trapped between two buildings on the eighth floor, Serena cried out, “Mmmm! Mmmm p>
Tears rolled down her face. She tried desperately to make herself heard, but the tape over her mouth only muffled her screams.
When Victor threw her out of the building, Serena truly thought she would die.
Her heart raced wildly as she felt
herself falling from the tenth floor. But fortunately, because of the narrow gap between the two structures, her body did not drop
straight down. Instead, she became wedged between them.
A broken horizontal beam protruding from the adjacent building caught her mid-fall, slamming against the back of the chair still tied to her, The chair hacked under the impact but part of its wooden frame hooked onto a thick piece of exposed reinforcement steel jutting from the concrete.
That was what stopped her.
Shaking, Serena pressed her back harder against the beam, forcing the damaged chair more firmly against the steel rod that was holding her in place.

Nathaniel’s voice was faint, but Serena could hear him across the thick wall blocking
her.

“Mmmm!” Serena cried desperately at that point. She used her feet this time to
stomp on the concrete.

“Sir, the drone picked up thermal heat from behind this wall p>
Serena could hear footsteps around the building. At the same time, Nathaniel
shouted orders.
“We need equipment to break through this wall p>
