She walked to her seat to grab her bag and leave. Evelyn approached, “Lemira, given our relationship, can you unlock my phone for me?” “What relationship do we have?” Lemira flickered a cold, mocking glare at Evelina.
Without another word to the fake angel, she walked out of the classroom. They loved stirring up gossip; why shouldn’t they get a taste of their own medicine? After all, spreading rumors these days seemed as easy as pie, but just as deadly.
Back in her dorm, Lemira felt a bit tired and was just thinking about taking a shower to relax when the door was practically slammed open. Clara stormed in, visibly furious, “Lemira, this has gone too far. You’ve locked everyone’s phones. What are they supposed to do now p>
Lemira noticed a crowd gathering outside, presumably all victims of the phone lock. Her expression visibly annoyed and impatient, “Are you deaf? I’ve already offered the solution, a public apology will set their phones free p>
“But we did nothing wrong! Why should anyone apologize?” Clara was clearly not ready to back down.
“Then get lost!” Lemira was in no mood to argue with these hypocrites.
“No. You must unlock our phones, Lemira. You’re out of the line p>
“That’s right. What gives you the right to? We have freedom of speech p>
“Yeah, you don’t have balls to admit what you’ve done p>
Lemira laughed in exasperation, “We are all girls. Have you ever thought about you being treated the same when you spread those rumors? Just a post or a photo, and someone’s branded for life. Today I’m able to add a mini program, I might have my ways to hit back, but what about when the tables are turned? How would you explain or clear your name? Have you thought about the consequences p>
The room fell silent at Lemira’s powerful voice.
Janice spoke up, “Exactly, think about it, girls. Lemira’s been singled out by the Business School, and we can’t just believe everything we read online. We should be supporting each other, not putting another woman through hell p>
After the words, some girls started
leaving, and the rest dispersed slowly, but Clara was not ready to give up, Janice, how could you side with Lemira? Wait till Ms. Sinclair
hears about it. You’re done for p>
Lemira gazed at Clara callously, “With all the lawsuits piling up against her, Ms. Sinclair has bigger fish to fry p>
“But she’s Ms. Sinclair! How could anything happen to her p>
Seeing Lemira’s cold, formidable state and lacking support, Clara had no choice but to retreat to her place, not daring to confront Lemira.
Looking at her black-screen phone, she almost cried in exasperation.
Janice pulled out her phone, “If you need to make a call, you can use mine p>

Clara was on the verge of tears, furious. Utter hatred bubbled up inside her, belittling Lemira as a bumpkin who wasn’t qualified to share a same room with her.
Lemira, getting to her bed after the
shower, took out her laptop and tried to hack into the bar’s security system from the previous night, looking for any footage. Finding out there were no cameras on the third floor, and merely cameras on the first and second floor.
Lemira could only find the relevant footage from the second floor, which was deleted; she copied the data. As far as she knew, repairing this footage meant dealing with some figure at the black market.
However, after what happened last time, she hadn’t contacted anyone at the market. Lemira lay on the bed; she needed time to think. With the event from the previous day, she felt exhausted. Lemira drifted off to sleep, only to be awakened by someone. She sat up, her gaze full of annoyance.
Janice, standing aside, said, “The supervisor is here. He wants to talk with you, probably about the forum post p>
“You’re done for, Lemira. Let’s see if you’ll be obedient when the supervisor asks you to unlock it,” Clara mocked, hoping Lemira would get disciplined.
