He withdrew his fingers slowly, the loss–making me shiver. My legs felt like jelly, and I had to grip his shoulders to stay upright. The knock came again, more insistent this time.

I looked down and nearly died of embarrassment. Three buttons had come undone, giving him a clear view of my lacy bra. When had that happened? I fumbled with the buttons, my fingers still trembling.
“And your hair,” he added, reaching up to smooth down what I’m sure was a disaster zone.
I stepped back, trying to get my racing heart under control. My reflection in his office window confirmed I looked exactly like someone who’d just been thoroughly kissed – flushed cheeks, swollen lips, and despite Alexander’s help, my hair was still a
mess.
“Right. I’ll just…“I gestured vaguely at the ch
door, backing away before I could change my mind and jump him again.
The cleaning crew stood in the hallway, pushing their cart of supplies. Two middle–aged women looked up as I emerged, and
I prayed they couldn’t tell what I’d been doing.
“Evening,” I squeaked, my voice an octave higher than normal.
The cleaning ladies barely glanced my way, already focused on their work, pushing their cart down the hallway. Thank god
for small mercies.
I straightened my blouse and went to the washroom, grateful for the sanctuary of solitude. Under the harsh fluorescent lights, my reflection revealed a flustered state: wild hair, pink cheeks, and slightly wrinkled clothes.
At least my lipstick remained perfect – thank goodness for waterproof formulas. I smoothed down my hair and straightened my outfit to look presentable again.
My mind kept drifting back to Alexander’s office. The way his hands had moved over me, how his fingers… I shook my head, trying to clear my thoughts. But the memory of his touch lingered, making my skin tingle.
What if the cleaning staff hadn’t interrupted us? Would we have continued right there on his desk, papers scattering, clothes abandoned in a careless heap? I could almost feel the cool wood beneath my bare back, Alexander looming over me, eyes dark

My chair squeaked as I sank into it, grateful for the temporary reprieve from standing.
