Ariel simply felt that whatever happened with Lucas was no longer her concern. She would just follow her own judgment.

Ariel glanced at the time.
“Don’t we have a 10:00 am meeting at Nexura?” she asked
Janice nodded. “Yeah, Chad wants me to go with you.”
Ariel didn’t think much of it and stood up. “Let’s head over how. Better to finish early.”
There was still a lot to follow up on for the project. Every stage needed oversight and precise control.
When they arrived at Nexura Tower, Tom, whom they had met before, greeted them.
He led them into the conference room with a friendly smile and a staff member brought them coffee. “Ms. Swanson, Ms. Walker, it’s good to see you again. Have some coffee first before we dive into business.” Janice frowned slightly. “No need for coffee. Let’s get straight to it. We don’t want to waste time.”
She was hoping to finish quickly and grab lunch with Ariel afterward.
Tom hesitated for a moment, then forced a smile and said,” Sorry about this. There’s a bit of a situation. You probably know Ms. Stanton is in charge now, but she’s currently still in a meeting with Mr. Larkin at Bluum Corp. We’ll have
to wait a little.”
Ariel finally looked up, her gaze cool.
The meeting had been scheduled since yesterday. And now they were being left to wait?
Janice, who had no filter, let out a dry laugh. “Mr. Chapman, I need to ask. You’re a veteran at Nexura, right? With all the talent you’ve got in–house, you guys were really okay letting a young returnee take charge of this major project?”
Were there really no objections at all?
After all, no matter how capable Nancy was, she clearly didn’t have Tom’s seniority.
Tom understood what Janice was implying. He waved it off casually.
“That’s not an issue at all. Mr. Larkin has thought this through carefully. He knows it wouldn’t be proper to have Ms. Stanton directly overseeing the project’s manufacturing.
“So he arranged in advance that once the project is completed, we’ll be treated as the leads. Our achievements and bonuses will be counted accordingly. As for Ms. Stanton, this gives her room to shine too. It’s a
win–win situation.
That way, no one would object to her taking the lead. Corporate life was all about flexibility anyway.
Ariel lowered her eyes and couldn’t help but smirk.
She hadn’t realized before how far Jayson was willing to go for one
woman.

“Mr. Larkin is surely meticulous,” Janice muttered with a sheer.
It was obvious that Jayson was grooming Nancy to become one of Nexura Solutions‘ top executives.
Tom, oblivious to the truth, grinned. “Well, of course. Everyone in the company knows Ms. Stanton and Mr. Larkin are in a stable relationship. Honestly, she’s already petting the Mrs. Larkin treatment. Of course, we’ll cooperate.
Janice clenched her teeth, about to retort. But Ariel gently pressed her hand on Janice’s, then gave a small shake of
her head.
The project mattered more.
Janice swallowed her words but inwardly cursed Nancy as a homewrecker.
Just then, the conference room door opened. Nancy stepped in on high heels. Her face was calm and graceful. Dressed in a tailored designer suit, she truly carried the air of a top executive.
“Ms. Swanson, sorry to keep you waiting.”
