Matt asked, “Is Nancy with you?”

Jayson merely hummed in response.

“Can you put me on speakerphone?”

Jayson pressed the button that allowed others to hear Matts voice while he was on the call.

Matt asked, “Has Perry contacted any of you recently? Did you guys notice how he seemed really busy lately? I planned on grabbing a meal with him today at first, but he said he couldn’t make it. I have no idea what he’s been up to.”

Nancy froze.

Perry had hardly gotten in touch with her lately. Moreover, he was slow to respond whenever Nancy had messaged him on WhatsApp asking about a few things. He had been quite cold to her recently.

Nancy figured Perry probably didn’t do that on purpose. He might have been occupied with work these days.

Ariel went back home after having met Liam. She could barely hold herself up at that point. Ariel set an alarm and spent the entire afternoon napping.

She finally dragged herself out of bed around 6:00 pm. The sense of discomfort that followed after undergoing chemotherapy had lessened considerably.

Chad was treating her and Janice to a meal tonight. Ariel knew how Chad and Janice were sincerely happy for her. She wasn’t going to refuse their kind offer to celebrate the occasion for her.

After she was done getting ready, Ariel headed to the restaurant Chad had made a reservation at.

Ariel told them about how Jayson had given her some of Nexura Solutions‘ shares.

Janice widened her eyes in shock. “Nexura Solutions? 20 percent of their shares? Has Jayson always been so kind- hearted?”

Although Nexura Solutions was just one of Bluum Corp’s many subsidiary companies, it was nevertheless a strong and competitive player in the industry. Among their many rivals, Nexura Solutions was considered one of the top three companies in their country’s northern region. The business currently boasted a high market price.

“Is he plotting something?” Janice was filled with both doubt and horror. She made another conjecture. “Did he perhaps give you those shares as a form of compensation because he started a company for Nancy?”

“If he had thought about Ari, he wouldn’t have started a company for Nancy. Since Jayson had done it anyway, there was no way he would feel an ounce of guilt toward Ari ” Chad scoffed.

Some men could be extremely ruthless and unscrupulous if they wanted to, especially for someone cold and calculative like Jayson. There was no way he would bother caring about things like decency and their past history.

Ariel wasn’t going to waste her time dwelling on the issue.

Unless Nexura Solutions had encountered a serious issue in their management or faced a financial crisis, Ariel would only benefit from this arrangement. She could just stay put and receive money in her account for the days to

come.

After they finished their meal, Janice suggested going to a bar next since she was feeling like it.

Ariel had alcohol intolerance, so she would get drunk casily Besides, she shouldn’t be drinking in her current condition.

She was about to refuse to join them. However, Ariel notice Chad’s face had darkened as he stared at his phone.

She paused briefly and asked, “What’s wrong, Chad?”

Chad had a grim look on his face. He lifted his head and passed his phone to Ariel. “Someone sent me this photo. Take a look at it yourself.”

Janice leaned toward Ariel.

Ariel’s eyes hardened when she saw what was on the screen

In the photo was one of their employees from Faye Tech’s tech department. It was Seth Maxwell.

The person sitting opposite Seth was Colton.

What could be the reason for Colton meeting a member of their tech department privately?

Janice was fuming. “Isn’t that Jayson’s secretary? He’s meeting our employee in private… They’re clearly trying to recruit him!”

Ariel could tell that much as well, especially since Veyo Solutions was working on hiring and recruiting people at

the moment.

Yet, these people had decided to make Faye Tech’s employees one of their targets too!

Chad knitted his brows and snickered. “He acted right after the two of you had gotten the divorce certificate. I don’t expect to see Jayson looking sad about the divorce. However, he didn’t have to go and stab you in the back afterward like this, right?”

Jayson had started doing these things to sabotage Faye Tech when he and Ariel had just gotten divorced?
