Ariel could feel a dull throbbing pain in her temples. She hadn’t expected Jayson’s side to take such a drastic move and attempt to recruit one of their members from the tech department right away.

For employees like Seth who were in the tech department, they were required to sign a non–compete clause. However, Jayson’s side probably wouldn’t mind paying for the indemnity if they were serious about recruiting Seth.

“Isn’t Jayson doing this on purpose?” Janice said through clenched teeth. “For a moment, I thought he was a pretty decent man since he had offered to give you those shares. Now, it seemed like he had only done that to lower your guard first!”

Faye Tech’s latest project was a huge success.

Ariel was listed as one of the project leads. Naturally, Jayson’s side would assume that Ariel would continue to participate in Faye Tech’s upcoming projects.

Furthermore, Veyo Solutions would definitely see Faye Tech as their main rival. There was bound to be fierce competition between the two companies once Veyo Solutions started operating.

It seemed like Jayson’s side had begun making preparations in advance.

“So, he’s trying to bring Faye Tech down from the inside first? Is he trying to disrupt Faye Tech’s expansion and prevent any chances of Ariel obtaining success through our subsequent projects? Is this how he’s getting back at Ariel after the divorce?” Janice pondered.

Ariel’s chest heaved with anger.

Faye Tech was the culmination of everyone’s hard work. It should not be used as a pawn in a battle involving her personal affairs.

Jayson had done so much for Nancy. He even had his men approach an employee of Faye Tech while they were preparing to launch Veyo Solutions. His actions would only make Nancy and Sarah feel extremely proud of themselves.

Ariel was fully aware that Jayson couldn’t care less about the conflicts between the Walker family and Sarah

However, Nancy was Sarah’s daughter. Jayson had chosen to go up against Ariel while trying to elevate Sarah’s and Nancy’s statuses. It made Ariel feel deeply humiliated.

Ariel regained her composure fairly quickly. She looked at Chad. “Who sent you this photo?”

If it weren’t for this photo, they would probably not have been able to prepare any countermeasures in advance.

Chad replied, “A friend of mine sent it. He was transferred to that area for work, and he happened to run into those two.”

Ariel had calmed down. “We need to resolve the issue as soon as possible. Let’s meet and talk about it with Seth tomorrow.”

Chad had no objections.

From the moment Veyo Solutions announced they would have an option pool representing 20 percent of their company’s shares, Chad knew the news would shake things up a little in their industry.

The next day, Ariel arrived at the office earlier than usual. Chad was already waiting in her office.

Ariel went ahead and asked Seth to come to her office.

When he saw that both Chad and Ariel were there, Seth could tell it wasn’t just a simple meeting with his superiors. He waited for them to bring up the matter.

Ariel didn’t lose her temper. She had an impassive expression. “You can be frank with us.”

Seth decided to be forward. “Yes, someone found me and told me about Veyo Solutions. Ms. Walker, the pay and benefits they’re offering are indeed the best one can find in our industry,”

Ariel wasn’t going to waste time trying to change Seth’s mind. “So, you’ve decided to resign from your position here?”

Seth fell silent. He couldn’t deny that Faye Tech was an up–and–coming business with a promising future ahead of it. However, Veyo Solutions had just been founded. The first batch of early employees could receive high pay and even a portion of the company’s equity from the option pool.

Seth replied straightforwardly, “Everyone knows Ms. Stanton has Bluum Corp’s Mr. Larkin’s backing. Faye Tech has spent years before reaching our current business scale, but Veyo Solutions is already operating at that level from the start.

“I know how competent you are, Ms. Walker. Despite your excellent capabilities, you’re still on your own. You can hardly compete with Ms. Stanton’s Veyo Solutions‘ team, which will have an edge of being protected by Mr. Larkin’s status and influence.”

Ariel furrowed her brows.

Meanwhile, Chad’s expression hardened. He hadn’t expected Seth to say something like that. Not only was he comparing Ariel and Nancy, but Seth was also saying that Ariel could never compare to Nancy, who had Jayson’s support.

Seth seemed to have decided not to hold back anymore. “With how much Mr. Larkin cared about Ms. Stanton, he would definitely help promote Veyo Solutions‘ growth and expansion. I’m merely making a reasonable choice now.”
