Stanley nodded and did not pry for more details. Instead, he brought up the main reason for their meeting today.” I hope someone as talented as you can contribute their skills and expertise in helping our military tech improve.

“In a few days, a project involving civilian urban security and disaster relief initiated by the Department of Defense will be put out to tender. Would you be interested in taking up the project?”

Strict requirements would be implemented, as these types of projects typically require more advanced, higher- level technologies.

Ariel was caught slightly off guard. However, she swiftly responded, “Of course, if there’s ever a chance.”

Although it was a project intended to help civilians, it was nevertheless a rare and valuable opportunity, as they would have the chance to work with the Department of Defense.

However, the competition was bound to be fierce, as companies from across the country would also be submitting their tenders. Additionally, the Department of Defense would consider various factors before deciding which company should handle the project.

During their meeting, Ariel received a call from the office. She needed to assist one of Faye Technologies‘ partners in resolving some technical maintenance issues.

Stanley didn’t mind Ariel taking a leave first. He smiled. “That’s alright. Work comes first. I’ll see you next time.”

Ariel gave a slight nod. At a nod from Carlos, Ariel got up and exited the room.

After Ariel came out of the room, she passed by someone as she walked down the corridor.

Gary halted and glanced in the direction where Ariel was heading.

He remembered who she was. He had seen Ariel during the birthday party organized by the Spencers. Moreover, she was a key member of Faye Technologies.

Without giving it much thought, Gary turned around and entered the private room.

Stanley greeted Gary the instant the latter came into the room. “You got here a bit too late. The lady has just left.”

Gary sat down and asked, “Which lady are you talking about? Who were you two meeting just now?”

Ever since Gary mentioned how he would like to introduce Zach to Ariel, Carlos would scowl whenever he was reminded of it. “Haven’t you been saying how you want to meet the U.N2 developer?”

“Carlos, why haven’t you told me that you’re meeting her today? You kept it from me on purpose, right?” Gary shot a glare at Carlos.

There was no way he would miss the opportunity to meet that person if he had known about it sooner.

All he knew was that they were meeting up to grab a meal together, and it was originally Stanley’s idea. Also, Gary had only joined them now since he had some free time.

However, Gary had a dawning realization.

His expression changed. “Is the U.N2 developer the lady who just…”

“It was Ariel Walker? That Ms. Walker?” Gary pondered.

“You probably saw her just now when you were coming in, Stanley responded as he

considered the time Gary had entered the room.

Gary slapped his thigh a few times. “So, it was Ariel Walker”

That explained why Chad had introduced Ariel and showered her with praise the other day.

Gary was aware that the U.N2 developer was very young. Yet, he didn’t expect her to be so young and beautiful!

“You know her?” Stanley hadn’t expected this reaction from Gary.

Gary nodded. “I’ve met her once. Carlos, you’re being unfair. I’ve been asking you to introduce her to me. Have you spoken to her about my son?”

Stanley finally understood what this was about. He found it rather amusing. “I must say that’s a really nice plan. Unfortunately, Ariel is married.”

“She’s getting divorced now,” Carlos immediately corrected him.

Gary was briefly stunned. “She’s married but is getting divorced now… Who’s Ariel’s husband?”

Carlos knitted his brows. He had a close relationship with the two men before him. Moreover, they were not the kind of people who would recklessly disclose sensitive information.

He snorted and said, “It’s Bluum Corp’s Mr. Larkin.”

Bluum Corp was a familiar name to Gary and Stanley since it was one of the top companies in their country.

Upon hearing that name, Gary’s expression hardened.

“Jayson Larkin? Doesn’t he… have a girlfriend, though?” he wondered.

Gary had met Nancy twice. Everyone said that she was Jayson’s girlfriend. Even during the birthday party hosted by the Spencer family, Jayson, Nancy, and Ariel were all there.

Gary’s face darkened. He had a rough idea of what was happening between those three now.

Gary felt a great affinity toward Ariel. He replied, “He’s not someone she could lean on. It’s a good thing they’re getting divorced now. My son, Zach, is loyal and responsible to his partner. Should we arrange for the youngsters to meet and get to know each other?”
