Chapter 309

Natalie hadn’t even gotten the chance to recover when the Ramirez Group started making things difficult for her. She gave it everything she had, barely sleeping for days. Even after the auction, when she finally took a short break, her body still felt worn out.

She only meant to relax for a moment. Next thing she knew, she’d dozed off on the couch.

By the time Alexander Ramirez walked out of the elevator, it was already dark outside. He spotted Natalie right away, curled up on the sofa, her head resting on the armrest, sound asleep. Even from a distance, he could see she looked thinner than before.

“Mr. Ramirez, should I wake Ms. Watson?” the receptionist asked, already heading toward Natalie.

“No, let her sleep. When she wakes up, tell her she can leave,” Alexander said, then walked straight out the revolving doors.

Natalie woke up groggy and numb, her arm tingling from the awkward position. It took a minute for her to realize she’d actually fallen asleep. She glanced out the window. Night had settled in. She looked over at the elevators, wondering if Alexander had already left.

“Ms. Watson?” someone called gently.

She turned to see the receptionist. “Did Mr. Ramirez already go?” she asked quickly. “Yes, he said you could leave whenever you woke up,” the receptionist replied.

Natalie had been waiting all this time just to see him, only to fall asleep and miss him completely. He’d seen her, but hadn’t bothered to wake her up. He just left.

“Do you know if he went home or if he had plans tonight? Do you know where he might be?” Natalie asked hopefully.

The receptionist shook her head. Even if she did know, she probably wouldn’t say. Realizing it was pointless to push, Natalie just thanked her and left.

She had no idea where Alexander had gone. If Eugene Ramirez were in town, she might have been able to ask him, but he wasn’t around.

Natalie was still trying to figure out what to do when her phone started ringing. It was Arianna Mitchell, asking if she was home. Arianna had bought a bunch of stuff and wanted to drop by.

“I’m not home,” Natalie said, then gave her a quick rundown of how she went over to the Ramirez Group to find Alexander, but ended up missing him.

“That jerk! He saw you sleeping and didn’t even wake you? He totally did that on purpose!” Arianna said, obviously annoyed. “Hang on, I’ll ask Bruce Ward if he knows where Alexander is. I’ll call you backin a minute p>

Bruce Ward was one of Alexander’s closest friends. If anyone knew where he was, it’d be him.

Instead of getting in her car, Arianna tossed her shopping bags on the seat and pulled out her phone to call Bruce.

“Arianna?” Bruce’s voice came through, sounding both surprised and happy.

“Can you not call me that?” Arianna said, taking a deep breath and fighting off the

chill that ran down her spine whenever he used her full name.

“Okay, Arianna,” he teased again.

Arianna rolled her eyes, holding back a sarcastic reply. Getting

Alexander’s location mattered more. “Where are you? BlueNight?” She could hear the noise in the

เว

background and quessed he was in

a bar.

Bruce laughed, thinking she wanted to see him. “I’m at a club with Alexander. Want

to come join us? I can come pick you up p>

She hadn’t even needed to ask—he’d just told her everything she needed to know.

“No, just send me the address,” she said.

“Sure, I’ll text it to you now p>

Arianna hung up, and within half a minute, Bruce’s message popped up. She forwarded it to Natalie and asked if she wanted company.

Natalie checked the address and headed to the curb to grab a cab. She texted back,

“I’ll go on my own. Thanks for the info. Next time I’ll buy you dinner p>

Arianna smiled at her phone and replied, “No need to thank me. I’ll hold you to that dinner.” Fınd the newest release on.net

Just then, as she looked up, she saw

Samuel Thompson walking to the car right next to hers, opening the driver’s door Arianna blinked, realizing she’d parked right beside him without even noticing.
