The car pulled into a parking spot near the gymnasium. Marguerite got out, shielding her eyes from the bright sun. A moment later, a shadow fell over her. She looked up to see a sun umbrella held over her head.

It was Sunday, so the school shouldn’t have been this crowded. But students were streaming from all directions, all heading toward the gymnasium. The academic pressure at Pinecrest was immense, so everyone was eager for a chance to unwind. Many of them were also carrying umbrellas.
The two of them blended into the crowd, looking like any other high school students.
