Serena was still absorbing everything.
He and Vanessa never had a relationship? So, everything he did in the past was to intentionally push me away?
Her mind was racing again.
Why did she even bother to entertain his reasons? What for?

Serena frowned. “What is it? Silas, don’t scare me like that p>
“Bastin was running around during the breakfast buffet, and-” Silas took a deep breath. “He threw his dinosaur against a glass partition and didn’t realize it was glass. He ran into it, broke the glass, and cut himself. It’s a deep cut. We’re at the hospital

“Oh my God.” Serena paled. Her heart began to race. “Silas p>
“I’m sorry, Serena. It was an accident,” Silas said quickly. “The hotel is taking responsibility. We’re at Grand Mercy Hospital. The doctors and nurses have stopped the bleeding. He’s fine p>
He paused, and Serena knew there was more. “But p>
“But the doctors advised a transfusion because he lost a fair amount of blood,” Silas revealed.
“It’s that bad?” Serena asked.
“He’s weak and feeling lightheaded,” Silas replied. “The doctors said it’s not serious, but replacing the lost blood would help p>
Instantly, Serena’s eyes darted to the man seated beside her.
If this were Rexam City, they would already have several bags of Anegative blood cross-matched for Bastin. But her son was in
Velmon.
“But don’t worry,” Silas continued. “The hospital has A-negative available in the blood bank. They’ll do the cross-matching today, and if everything checks out, the transfusion can be done tomorrow morning p>

Serena blinked, unsure how to say it. “My son had an accident. He needs a blood transfusion p>
She noticed how Nathaniel’s face drained of color. He swallowed hard. “You… have a son p>
“He’s Ali’s twin,” Serena answered. “As soon as we land, I need to go to the hospital p>
Nathaniel looked defeated.
Serena could almost see the thoughts racing through his mind, but she was still undecided whether to tell him the truth. That was something she needed to discuss with her family. They had long agreed not to involve Nathaniel in their lives.
Then another factor surfaced.

“If she’s just going to insult me, I’d rather not,” Serena said.

Nathaniel’s words made Serena think of Bianca’s hatred. Did she deserve to know about her grandchildren?
Maybe… not.
Serena decided it was best to wait until she spoke with Bianca, whatever the reason might be. She braced herself for the worst, unaware that a choice she had already made, one rooted in kindness, could change someone’s heart.
When Serena arrived in Velmon, she went straight to the hospital.
Her heart ached as her usually hyperactive son lay weakened in bed. The doctors assured her that a blood transfusion could speed up his recovery. However, to her dismay, none of the available blood matched Sebastian’s.

At five in the morning, Serena went to Bianca’s mansion. Nathaniel’s phone was off. She couldn’t reach him, and Gavin wasn’t answering either.
