She wore a black hoodie, her long hair silky and straight, with a backpack slung casually over her shoulder. In her hand, she carried a Häagen-Dazs ice cream bar.
A breeze drifted by and lifted her hair, revealing a pale, delicate face that was honestly gorgeous.
This time, he saw her much more clearly than that quick glimpse at the traffic light.
There was no doubt about it. She had to be Nora’s daughter, the granddaughter his grandfather had spent years searching for.
Kenneth just stared for a second, then quickly pulled out his phone and snapped two photos of Charlotte.
He made sure to get her whole face, her eyes, her nose, every detail crystal clear.
Noticing Kenneth’s eyes practically glowing as he watched Charlotte, his manager let out a low laugh. “So, what do you think? Isn’t she exactly the kind of beauty the entertainment industry’s never seen before?”
Her features were perfect, her figure was amazing, and she had this effortlessly cool vibe.
“She looks pretty young, but if we could get her to sign, she’d take over the industry for sure,” the manager said, still watching Charlotte. Then he suddenly turned and leaned in close to examine Kenneth’s face.
“Kenneth, you know, she actually looks a lot like you. Especially the eyes.”
Of course she does. She’s his sister. How could she not look like him?
“How about I go try to sign her right now?”
Kenneth ignored him. He sent Charlotte’s photos straight to the family group chat, then smacked the back of the driver’s seat and said, his excitement bubbling over, “Stop the car!”
“What? Stop here?”
“There are cameras everywhere. We can’t stop now,” the manager said, looking shocked. “She’s a treasure, sure, but isn’t this a little much—”
Before he could finish, Kenneth had already rolled down the window and jumped out of the car without a second thought.
“Kenneth!”
The manager was so stunned he nearly forgot to breathe. He shouted after Kenneth’s retreating figure, “Come back!”
They were in the city. Tons of people knew Kenneth. If fans saw him, there would be chaos.
But Kenneth didn’t even slow down. He darted between cars, heading straight for Charlotte.

He spotted Charlotte stepping into

But by the time he made it through the crowd, she was already gone.
Kenneth stopped where he was, bent over and gasping for breath, when his phone started ringing.
He answered, and Kevin’s excited voice blasted through. “I saw the pictures! She looks exactly like Nora.”
“It’s her. Nora’s daughter.”
“You actually saw her? Where is she? Send me the address right now, I’m coming over!”
Kenneth didn’t answer right away. Kevin sounded even more anxious. “Did you hear me?”
Kenneth straightened up and slipped into a quiet corner taking a hands through his hain. He lowered his voice. “I lost her.”
“What?!”
Kevin’s voice exploded in his ear, so loud Kenneth had to pull the phone away. “It was an accident, I swear.”
Kevin sounded like he was grinding his teeth. He bit out, “You better stay away from me. If you come back, I’ll break your legs myself Conten.net>
The call ended. Kenneth let out a helpless little laugh, feeling the sting of
disappointment.
She had been right there, just a few steps away.
But at least now he knew for sure. She was in Cabinda. As long as she stayed here, they would find her eventually.

When she saw the sports car parked in the driveway, her brows lifted and her steps sped up just a bit.
“Charlotte, you’re back.”
