Chapter 146
“The way he’s hitting him… it’s like he wants him gone for good. Do you think he’s into Ms. Main too?”
“If two guys like the same girl, how could they possibly get along?” one of the waitresses whispered, her cheeks turning pink. “Or… maybe he actually likes Anthony?”
Anthony had been single for almost thirty years. Now there was a girl at his side out of nowhere. Who knew if she was just there to keep up appearances? Honestly, with these two handsome guys, if they ended up together, it would feel just like a scene from a romance novel.
Charlotte leaned against the wall, one long leg bent. Her clear eyes found Anthony, and she asked quietly, “Is he your friend?”
“Get off him!” Anthony’s brow was furrowed, his dark gaze locked on Kenneth. He couldn’t help but wonder if Kenneth had lost his mind. Just a minute ago, he’d been going on about how Lottie couldn’t compare to his own sister. Now he was beating up the guy who dared mess with her.
“Don’t hold me back. I swear I’m going to kill this jerk today!” Kenneth fought to break free, still fuming. No one got to mess with his sister and walk away.
“That’s enough.” Anthony stepped forward, gripped Kenneth’s collar, and yanked him back. He swept a cold look over everyone nearby. “I don’t want to see a single word about tonight anywhere online.”
The manager and staff all nodded as fast as they could. “Of course, Anthony, don’t worry. No one’s taking any pictures. Nothing’s getting out.”
They couldn’t afford to cross Kenneth, let alone Anthony.
The manager glanced at the unconscious man on the floor, voice trembling. “And… what about him?”
“Stick his head in the toilet. When he wakes up, hand him to the cops,” Kenneth snapped, still boiling.

“Yes, Mr. Gates.” The manager didn’t dare hesitate. He waved to the security team, and they hauled the man off to the men’s room.
A guard let go, and the man’s entire head went straight into the toilet. The stench
and icy water hit him all at once. He thrashed, choking and coughing, gulping down disgusting mouthfuls of water.

He barely managed to lift his head before the guards shoved him right back in, dunking him over and over until the water in the bowl had been flushed out several times. People standing outside the door felt their way of

Back in the private room, Anthony wiped his hands clean, then gently took Charlotte by the wrist and guided her to the sofa. He set a bowl

making sure she had everything she needed.
Charlotte sank into the couch, lazily chewing a lychee. Her big eyes blinked coldly at the man sitting across from her whose expression was impossible to read. It took her a second to recognize him-he was the guy who’d tried to chat her up at the red light. The same pretty boy Shirley had a crush on.
Just knowing Anthony was friends with this guy made Charlotte frown a little. She wasn’t thrilled about it.
“What was that all about?” Anthony poured her a glass of warm water, holding it carefully to her lips. “Here, drink a little. Careful.”
Charlotte lifted her eyes and took a tiny sip, then another. “More?” Anthony’s thumb gently wiped away a drop of water from the corner of her mouth as he asked.
She shook her head and he put the glass down. The way they were with each other was so natural it was almost infuriating.
Not far away, Kenneth looked like his eyes were about to pop out of his head.
