Chapter 201
The next morning, a soft breeze fluttered through the sheer curtains, letting warm sunlight spill into the room.
Charlotte got up and washed her face. Even without any makeup, her skin was smooth and fair, her features so delicate that she practically glowed.
She finished getting ready and headed downstairs.
“Good morning, Ms. Main.”
“Good morning.” Charlotte smiled politely and went straight to the dining table. She sat down and glanced at the empty seat across from her, her brows drawing together for a moment.
“Anthony isn’t down yet?”
Helen hurried to explain, “Anthony’s usually up early. He probably worked late last night, so he’s sleeping in today.”
“Oh.”
Charlotte pressed her lips together, picking at the shell of her egg, but she didn’t really feel like eating anymore.
Just as Helen finished, footsteps echoed from the direction of the spiral staircase. “Good morning, Anthony,” a maid greeted respectfully.
Charlotte lifted her gaze as Anthony came into view. He wore a light gray suit that looked sharp but relaxed, and his hair was neatly styled. The sunlight caught his features, showing off his tall frame and that flawless, almost unreal face.
One of the maids whispered, “Wow, Anthony looks so handsome today.”
Another chimed in, “He usually goes for dark colors, but this lighter outfit makes him look even more elegant.”
“Doesn’t he look so much younger like this?”
“Please, Anthony’s never looked old. He just keeps getting more attractive.”
Charlotte found herself staring at him, an egg still in her hand, completely distracted.
Anthony noticed and walked over, tapping the table in front of her. “Lottie, why are you staring at me like that?”
He looked pretty pleased with himself. It was obvious he wanted her to like everything about him, not just his hands.
“You look good,” Charlotte admitted, raising her eyebrows in a teasing way. “Am I not allowed to look?”
Anthony was taken aback for a
second, then flashed a crooked, playful smile. You can look at you

want. Even my life.”

Charlotte’s heart fluttered. Her clear eyes sparkled and a soft smile tugged at her
lips.
“This is for you.”
She held out the peeled egg in her palm.
“Thanks, Lottie.”
Anthony took it from her, then
started making her a sandwich. He asked Helen to get some milk and Snacks ready Afte packing
everything up and wiping his hands clean, he grabbed Charlotte’s school bag and headed toward the door.
“Sorry I’m late. We’ll have to eat breakfast on the way.”
“Okay,” Charlotte replied quietly, just standing there with her hands at her sides.
Anthony took a few steps before
realizing she wasn’t following. He glanced back and saw her still rooted to the spot. Smiling helplessly he walked back took her hand, and spoke gently. “Come on, Lottie.”
Her frown disappeared and she let him lead her, following a step behind.
From the hallway, the maids watched them leave and couldn’t help whispering among themselves.
“Doesn’t it feel like Anthony is raising Ms. Main like a kid?”
Helen grinned, joining in. “Isn’t this what you young people call ‘spoiling your girlfriend like a baby’?”
Honestly, Ms. Main might be young, but she had such a great personality. She and Anthony were perfect for each other.
Later, in the car, Charlotte happily munched on the sandwich Anthony had made for her.
Anthony leaned back, one arm resting behind her, his phone in his other hand as he spoke with a smile.
“Grandma, it’s not that I don’t want to come see you. The company’s just been really busy lately. I can’t get away right now.”
