Anne’s face fell. Great, she had to play along again.
A few minutes later, footsteps sounded at the entrance. A man and a woman walked slowly into the hall, leaving the guards and maids staring in shock.
Anthony wore a white shirt and a deep blue tie. His sharp features were flawless, and he had that cool, distant vibe that made you hesitate to get too close. Next to him, Charlotte looked way more casual in a plain white T-shirt, black pants, and sneakers, with Anthony’s suit jacket slung carelessly over her shoulders.
She might have dressed simply, but her beauty was impossible to ignore. One look, and you were hooked.
“Wow, she’s gorgeous. Is she a celebrity?” one of the maids whispered under her breath.
“It’s not just her face. She’s got the figure, and the way she carries herself… it’s unreal,” another one sighed.
“And Anthony’s holding her hand. She has to be the future Mrs. Blair, right? They look perfect together.”
“But The first maid’s voice got even softer. “She seems pretty young. Do you think Patricia will be okay with this?”

Anne found herself staring too. For a second, she completely blanked, then managed to snap out of it and put on a smile. “Patricia is upstairs.”
Anthony took his jacket off Charlotte and settled his hand gently on her waist. “How’s Grandma? Did the doctor come by?”
“Uh Anne was a terrible liar. She stumbled over her words. “Patricia said it’s serious. The doctor checked, but… nothing helped.”
The truth? The doctor had said Patricia was just hungry. Feed her and the pain would disappear.
Anthony didn’t ask more. He leaned close to Charlotte and whispered something in her ear. She glanced up at him, cool and calm, and gave a small nod.
Then something happened that nobody expected. Anthony, who was always so cold and serious, actually smiled. He really smiled. The people in the hall all exchanged shocked looks.
Upstairs, Anne knocked on the bedroom door and called out loudly, “Patricia, Anthony and Miss Healer are here.”
