Anthony had just stepped out from his private corridor and, through the one-way glass, saw the whole thing unfold. His gaze deepened. That was no ordinary move.
Whoever that was, now flanked by two bodyguards, all Anthony could see was a figure dressed in a sharp black suit, body slightly bent. That silhouette…
He paused, hands buried in his trouser pockets, eyes fixed on the scene ahead.
“Anthony, is something wrong?” Hans looked over, confused. Wasn’t it just a server bumping into a guest?
“It’s nothing.” Anthony’s lips curled into a wry smile after a moment. Maybe he missed Lottie so much he was seeing her everywhere, even in the back of some stranger.
Right now, Lottie should be sitting in class, listening quietly.
“Send a bottle of wine to the guest as an apology,” Anthony said, voice calm and low. “Let’s head to the main floor.”
“Yes, Anthony.” Hans nodded respectfully and pushed open the door.
Just as he turned away, Charlotte-head down until then-lifted her chin and turned around.
She had barely taken a step when a man in a suit with a “Manager” badge walked up, beaming. “Sir, I apologize for the disturbance.” He presented a pricey bottle of red wine with both hands. “Please accept this from Netherworld Casino. We hope you and your party have a great time here.”
Adonis’s eyes widened when he saw the label. That bottle had to cost at least six figures. Generous, he thought. Only the top dogs at Apex would hand out gifts like that.
But who would dare touch a gift from the enemy?
Charlotte shot the bottle a cold look. “Keep it away from me.” Her voice was icy and sharp.
The manager froze, caught off guard. Who refused free expensive wine?
Before he could react, Charlotte pulled out a thick wad of cash and dropped it on the server’s tray. “I’ll buy whatever’s on the floor.”
