Charlotte pressed her lips together, a thoughtful frown creasing her brow.
This was definitely a headache.
“Let’s hold off on releasing the experiment results for now.” She rolled up the scroll with careful hands, tucking it neatly into a deep red velvet pouch. Her voice was calm but firm. “I’ll let you know once I’ve decided what to do.”
Jackson and Adonis shared a look. They got the message, but neither of them dared to say a word.
Back during the Apex power struggle, N Organization had taken a brutal beating. If they decided to take Anthony down for good, no one would blame them.
But Charlotte clearly wasn’t interested in revenge.
She was tangled up with Anthony now, whether she liked it or not. If those old hardliners at N Organization ever found out… just thinking about it made Adonis uneasy.
The week rushed by in a blur.
Saturday after class, Charlotte’s phone buzzed with a new message.
