Chapter 504
A sharp pain shot up Steven’s wrist, cold seeping into his bones until he was shivering all over. He tried to pull himself together, raising his head, but then his eyes landed on a face he’d never forget—striking, but so cold it made his heart skip a beat.
Anthony.
What was he doing here?
Steven had burst into the office so fast, he hadn’t even noticed someone else was there. And what had Anthony just said? Since when did Charlotte belong to him?
Steven stood rooted to the spot, glancing from Charlotte to Anthony, his eyes wide with disbelief. Cabinda had plenty of big names, but Anthony, CEO of The Blair Group, was in a class of his own. Women lined up just for a chance to talk to him. Never in his wildest dreams did Steven think the one to catch his eye would be Charlotte—his own daughter, the one he looked down on most.
“Anthony?” Steven finally managed, his voice shaking.
Anthony didn’t loosen his grip. In fact, his hand only tightened, the pain making Steven wince. Anthony’s lips curled into a cold, dangerous smile as he spoke, every word landing like a warning. “Who did you say you were going to kill?”
Steven flinched, his whole body tense.
Elizabeth and Olivia, standing off to the side, stared at Charlotte in shock, not even bothering to hide their surprise. Had Charlotte really gotten together with Anthony?
“Anthony, this is just a family matter. I was teaching my daughter a lesson,” Steven tried to laugh it off, forcing a smile. “Charlotte, why don’t you explain?”
Charlotte just raised her eyebrows, clearly annoyed. “Explain what? That you didn’t really mean it when you said you’d kill me?”
Steven opened his mouth, but nothing came out.
“Anyway, you lost the right to call yourself my father a long time ago.” Charlotte’s lips curled into a smirk as she sank into the chair Anthony had just left She crossed her legs, her smile growing more mocking by the second. “Who do you think you are, telling me what to do?”
Eleanor, watching from across the room, had never seen her daughter talk back like that. To her own father, no less. And honestly Eleanor thought it was about time. Steven deserved every bit of it. She coughed quietly and looked away, pretending not to see.
“Charlotte—” Steven shot her a furious glare, ready to snap at her, but before he could say anything, the pain in his wrist suddenly got a lot worse. It felt like something was breaking inside.
“You really think you can look at her like that?” Anthony’s voice was icy. He kicked Steven behind the knee, sending him crashing to the floor, right in front of Charlotte.
Eleanor and the dean were both stunned.
Olivia and Elizabeth stared, frozen, too shocked to say a word. Anthony had just made Steven kneel to Charlotte. Wasn’t Charlotte worried about karma catching up to her?
“If you even think about getting up,
kneeling will be the least of your problems, Anthony warned. He stepped behind Charlotte, pulled a tissue from the box, and wiped his bands,

of the feeling. His eyes never left Steven, who stayed on his knees, too scared to move.
Anthony tossed the tissue in the trash, poured a glass of warm water, and handed it
to Charlotte. He gently patted the back of her head and spoke in a soft voice. “So, how do you want to handle this?”
