“Janie, don’t get mad,” Olivia said, glancing over at Charlotte with a sweet, innocent smile.
Charlotte shot her a look, silently cursing her in her head.
Olivia’s smile faded, leaving her looking a little awkward.
Janie, still annoyed, glared at Stella and sneered. “Stella, my uncle called me. He said he’ll come see you after training.” When she saw Stella’s face change, she pressed on, sounding pleased with herself. “Letty’s coming back from her exchange, too. You guys should have a nice little family reunion.”

Letty was Stella’s older half-sister, a first-year grad student at The Cabinda University’s Department of Modern Medicine.
“Let’s go, the coach is calling,” Olivia whispered, tugging gently on Janie’s sleeve. The two of them left with their group.
“Stella, are you alright?” Shirley asked, her voice soft with concern when she noticed Stella’s expression.
Stella glanced back at Charlotte, then forced a small smile for Shirley. “I’m fine.”
She’d survived worse than this. If people wanted to mess with her, she’d give it right back. After dying once, there wasn’t much left to be afraid of.

The weather was gloomy and drizzly. With no instructors leading them, each team had to hike through the mountains to the summit, plant a flag with their name, then cross over to the other side to finish the challenge.
Even without anyone watching over them, the whole mountain was covered by cameras, so there was nowhere to hide.
