A shadow darted in front of her and landed a hard kick right in the man’s stomach.
The man flew backward and crashed to his knees, coughing and groaning.
Robert froze, eyes wide, as Anthony appeared out of nowhere. He just stared, totally thrown off.
“Are you alright?”
Anthony’s voice was low as he bent down, gently taking Charlotte’s hand. He turned her wrist over, frowning as he spotted a red mark on her skin. His eyes went cold.
Her skin was always so soft. It bruised easily. That jerk had been drunk and hadn’t held back at all.
“I’m okay,” Charlotte said, shaking her head.
“Security, get this drunk out of here!” Donald rushed over, barely glancing at the man curled up on the floor. His voice was sharp. “Toss him out on the street.”
“He really tried to mess with Lottie right here?” Roger and Kenneth showed up, each giving the guy on the ground a hard kick. “He must have lost his mind.”
The man yelped, pain snapping him back to his senses.
“Lottie, you’re not hurt, right?”
Charlotte shook her head again, but before she could answer, Anthony gently lifted her wrist.
He pulled out a disinfectant wipe and cleaned her skin, slow and careful.
The whole room suddenly felt tense. People exchanged glances. Something was definitely up between Anthony and Charlotte.
It was impossible not to notice the connection between them. Everyone realized just how much the Gates family would gain if they got close to the Blairs.
Anyone who’d been entertaining thoughts about Charlotte quickly dropped the idea after seeing what had happened to the drunk guy.
No one wanted to go up against Anthony. That was just asking for trouble.
Robert was the most shocked. He was starting to realize that there was a lot more going on between Lottie and Anthony than he’d thought.

those gifts and acted so polite. Robert had really thought he was a good guy, He had no idea Anthony had his sights set on Lottie from the start.
“Who fell for who first? Who made the first move?” Robert forced himself to calm down, eyes shifting between the two of them.
Everyone else in the room looked at Anthony. Did Robert really need to ask? It was obvious Anthony was the one who started it.
At that, Charlotte lifted her gaze and met Anthony’s deep, unreadable eyes. Her heart skipped a beat.
