The plan to plead insanity and dodge responsibility had completely fallen apart.
“The third piece of evidence is a fake stock transfer report.”
Mahoney’s face drained of color, and he almost sprang out of his seat. He had locked that report away himself. How on earth had the lawyer managed to find it?
Charlotte gave a calm, almost lazy smile. “Mahoney forged that transfer document to get his hands on Stella’s mother’s assets. He worked with Fedelia to abuse Stella, and then sent her away to survive on her own. Just looking at what they did, it’s obvious they planned to get rid of her from the very start. They didn’t just think about it, they acted on it.”
They had dug up everything. Proof that Fedelia faked a miscarriage and blamed it on Stella, plus Stella’s hospital records after being beaten. All of it was out in the open.
Fedelia and Mahoney just stared in shock.
Inheritance? Abuse? What were they even talking about?
Sun felt completely lost. He shot a baffled look at Fedelia and Mahoney. Back when he was collecting evidence, he had told them over and over again, if there was anything the other side could use against them, he needed to know. Only then could he figure out a way to fight back.

“The last piece of evidence is a series of chat screenshots.”
At that, Mahoney and Fedelia lurched to their feet, eyes glued to the evidence. A dozen chat screenshots were projected onto the big screen.
The words couldn’t have been clearer.

“To defend human rights and uphold the dignity of the law, we demand the harshest sentence for all three defendants We’ll be filing additional charges for embezzlement, abuse, and attempted murder.”
When court met again, it was all but certain. Letty, Fedelia, and Mahoney were headed straight to prison.
Faced with evidence like that, Fedelia and Mahoney’s legs buckled and they crumpled to the floor.
Sun opened his mouth, but he didn’t even get the chance to argue. He had lost to Questlaw again.
“Apex’s legal elite? Not so impressive after all.” Charlotte caught Sun’s unwilling glare and gave him a little smirk.
“Sun, you’d better work a little harder. Otherwise, every time we meet, I’ll win. Every single time.”
