“Evelina made quite the scene at school, down on her knees, claiming Lucian was on his deathbed and wanted to see me. How could I not come p>
As Lemira finished her explanation,

“Evelina, I’ve had enough of your so-called ‘comfort food.’ I want you out, and don’t bother bringing me food again p>

“Just leave, don’t make me repeat myself p>
Lucian was visibly upset.
Resentfully, Evelina left the room, shooting Lemira a smug look.
Lemira glanced at the broken bowl
on the floor, her tone mocking,
“Evelina made it sound like you were knocking on death’s door. You seem fine to me p>
Lucian, slightly embarrassed, admitted, “Honestly, Evelina’s cooking isn’t my cup of tea. You can ask Hogan if you don’t believe me p>
“Yeah, Evelina’s always pushing her dishes on us, but the boss hardly touches them p>
Lemira eyed the remnants on the floor, “Seems like ‘hardly’ is an understatement p>
