Lemira’s thoughts drifted to Dorian Draven, a toff from Wye, the new heartthrob at school who had transferred from Orvin High. Word around was that he had stirred up some trouble at his old school and was laying low here for a while.
Dorian was anything but low-key, though. He drove a fancy sports car, wore designer clothes, and was a hardcore gamer.
Back in her past life, after Evelina took the crown from her in a competition, Dorian had pursued Evelina, and they ended up together.
Lemira chuckled to herself and shoved the love letter into her desk without even bothering to open it. She didn’t even mention anything about exchanging contact information. Evelina was green with envy, “Lemmy, why don’t you just open it and see p>

Back when she used to receive love letters, it was in elementary school, before her parents had the accident, and before Evelina had even entered her world.
Evelina felt a pang of discomfort. What was there to be so smug about? Evelina’s eyes darkened with resentment.
After all the efforts to bring Lemira down, how had she suddenly changed so much? Was she actually trying to steal Dorian away?
After school, Lemira just packed her bag and left. Evelina lingered for a while, and then went over to Lemira’s desk and took all the love letters.
Lemira headed straight for the infirmary.
She wanted to surprise Orion, but he wasn’t there. She took out her phone and messaged him. [My grades are out, top ten! I might actually have a shot at getting into Orvin University!] Excited! Orion was the first person she thought of to share this joy with.
After sending the message, Lemira eagerly awaited Orion’s reply.

Lemira saw Lucian standing before her, her smile fading slightly, “It’s okay p>
Lucian handed her a gift box, “To celebrate your achievement, I picked out something special. Didn’t you mention you liked this brand of jewelry p>
Lemira glanced at the gemstone necklace inside the box. Was this supposed to make up for the emerald necklace she had given away?
At the moment, Evelina walked over, noticing the necklace, and struggled to keep her composure.
Evelina said sourly, “That’s a beautiful necklace, Lemmy. You should try it on for Lucian to see p>
Lemira raised her eyes, “I don’t like it p>
Lucian looked somewhat awkward, “If you don’t like it, I can exchange it for another. Which one do you prefer p>
After Lemira refused the emerald necklace, Lucian had gone out of his way to buy a new one, thinking that should do it.
Lemira could see he was trying to make amends. But the hurt she had suffered couldn’t just be erased by a piece of jewelry.
Evelina noticed Lucian’s change in attitude; he actually tried to mend fences with Lemira. This was not what she had expected at all.
Evelina quickly said, “Lemmy, Lucian is just a typical guy; how would he know what kind of jewelry girls like? You have no idea how jealous I am!” Lemira looked at her impatiently, “Then you should’ve made it into the top ten p>
Stop whining and playing the damsel in distress!
Evelina’s eyes got red immediately, “I didn’t do well this time, it’s all Wendy’s fault. I wouldn’t have scored so low otherwise p>
Lucian’s expression turned awkward, “I know, it’s not your fault. Come on, let’s go out for a big meal to celebrate p>
Quickly changing the subject seemed to be Lucian’s best move at the moment.
Evelina’s expression stiffened. She hadn’t done well, what was there to celebrate? In the end, it’s all for Lemira.
