“Yours?” Lemira’s eyes darkened. “Everything you have was originally mine. I’m the rightful Ms. Langston. You only pick up what I leave behind p>
Evelina was instantly infuriated. “We’ll see who regrets it in the end p>
“Bring it on,” Lemira retorted, her voice low and icy. “I’m not the pushover I used to be. I’m going to reclaim what’s rightfully mine and kick you out of the Langston estate p>
With that, Lemira turned on her heel and left, leaving Evelina seething. She knew Lemira’s return meant trouble, a threat to her already precarious position in the family.
Meanwhile, Evelina spotted Mrs. Grace Draven at the charity event and quickly approached her, feigning delight. “Mrs. Grace, what a surprise to see you here p>
Mrs. Grace Draven, dressed modestly but with a designer bag slung over her shoulder, responded with a cool detachment. “Please, call me Mrs. Grace Draven. We hardly know each other p>

Evelina, unperturbed, continued to hover around Mrs. Grace Draven, eager to impress.
Lemira spotted Mrs. Grace Draven too and was mildly surprised. It was likely the Waverlies’ influence that brought her here. Instead of joining them, Lemira went to check on the food preparation.
She noticed a woman who seemed a bit unwell and hurried over. “Are you alright? Should I call a doctor p>
The woman waved her off. “I’m fine p>
Upon closer inspection, Lemira realized she knew the woman, having seen her at the Everhart family’s private hospital once before.
Mrs. Amanda recognized Lemira as well and gave a faint smile. “Oh, it’s you. What are you doing here p>
She had been invited to the charity event, unaware it was connected to the family involved in the accident years ago. Mrs. Amanda had never forgotten Asher’s face and recognized him when she saw him earlier. s
“I’m just helping out,” Lemira replied, assisting Mrs. Amanda to a nearby seat and offering her a glass of lemon water.

Just then, Evelina strutted over, her high heels clicking sharply on the floor. “Lemira, what’s the deal? You removed the luxury desserts! specially ordered, and now an important guest can’t have them. How embarrassing!” s
“Who’s asking for them?” Lemira inquired, frowning.
“Dorian’s mother, of course. She’s the most distinguished guest here today. Do
you want to upset her? Go get the desserts out immediately p>
Lemira sighed. “You can go get them yourself. I’m attending to this guest right now; she’s not feeling well p>
Evelina scoffed. “Are you out of your mind, Lemira? Dorian’s mother is the priority here. The others can just go to a hospital if they’re sick. Why are you wasting time p>
Mrs. Amanda intervened, not wanting to cause Lemira any trouble. “Go on, attend to your duties p>
She was appalled by Ms. Langston’s arrogance, bullying a temporary worker like this.
Evelina shot Mrs. Amanda a
disdainful look and continued, “Lemira, Asher entrusted you with today’s event if Mrs. Grace Draven is displeased, how will you explain to Asher?” s
Mrs. Amanda’s complexion grew paler at those words. She clutched Lemira’s hand in a sudden panic. “Are you part of the Langston family p>
