Lemira glanced at the nameplate on the table. She hadn’t noticed before that it actually said “Sophia.” What a coincidence.
Orion would be coming too.
Susanna lowered her voice. “Let me tell you something—my sister has partnered with the Everhart family on this project. She’ll be working closely with Mr. Everhart from now on. Someone like you, a pampered little bird who doesn’t understand anything, could never compare to my sister’s competence. She can actually help a man share his workload and stress p>
Lemira hadn’t expected the Sinclair and Everhart families to be collaborating on this project.
Thinking of Mrs. Amanda’s attitude toward Sophia, Lemira felt her mood sink.
She stood up, ignoring Susanna.
Just then, a large group of sharply dressed business professionals entered, the university president and other school officials leading the way.
Among them, Lemira spotted Orion. He wore a deep navy suit, his tall, slender figure standing out among the group of middle-aged men.
As soon as Orion appeared, nearly every girl in the room turned to look his way.
At their age, who could resist such a charming, accomplished man?
Everyone around was whispering, trying to guess who the handsome newcomer
was.
At that moment, a striking woman in a white suit walked directly over and stood at Orion’s side, offering an elegant, radiant smile.
Lemira watched as Sophia stood next to Orion-the two of them, a strikingly attractive pair.

With that, Susanna walked straight over to Sophia. “Sis, you’re finally here. Someone who had no right to be here shamelessly took your seat. Who knows what she’s up to p>
Sophia looked up and spotted Lemira, her smile growing even warmer. “Oh, Ms. Langston. I’ll have someone arrange another seat for you p>
“There’s no need,” Lemira replied, stepping aside. “You’re too kind, Ms. Sinclair. I couldn’t possibly trouble a guest to arrange my seat. Please, take your place p>
Sophia bit her lip, then turned back to Orion with a gentle tone. “Orion, let’s sit down. The conference is about to begin p>
Orion walked straight over to Lemira, glancing at the speech in her hands. “Are you ready p>
“Just about. Please, have a seat, Mr. Everhart p>
Lemira gave him a meaningful look and a poised smile.
Orion felt a chill from her expression.
Sophia quickly walked over, still smiling. “Orion, let’s p>
But Orion ignored her and went straight to sit in the front row.
Sophia’s seat was in the second row, a bit removed from the first. She had hoped to walk up with Orion and naturally sit beside
him everyone knew how close they were, and no one would try to take her spot.
But now, that chance was gone.

Seeing that insincere, sugary smile on Ms. Sinclair’s face, Lemira felt a twinge of discomfort.
She smiled faintly. “No, thank you p>
Lemira turned and walked straight to Orion, taking the empty seat beside him.
Sophia’s smile faded instantly as she saw this.
Was Lemira openly challenging her?
Did that woman not realize the Everhart family was responsible for her parents’ deaths?
