Lemira glanced up to see her teacher, and following that gaze, she saw Lucian standing outside the classroom. Lips pressed into a thin line, she finally stepped out.
Her expression was blank, “If you’re here to ask me to take notes for Evelina, you might as well not bother p>
She didn’t need to guess why Lucian was at school; it’s obviously to excuse Evelina’s absence.

“Lemmy, I remember back in elementary school, you were a top student. Then your grades started fluctuating, even getting worse. Were you doing that on purpose to match Evelina, or even score lower than her?” Lemira halted, surprised he knew. Her eyes revealed doubt, puzzled by Lucian’s intentions.
Seeing her expression, Lucian knew his suspicions were true, and it saddened him. He wondered why he hadn’t noticed Lemira’s changes before, that she was actually kind to Evelina.
But they had grown accustomed to favoring Evelina, and over time, they took Lemira’s need for their care for granted.

The bitterness in Lucian’s heart deepened. His once adoring little sister was now so distant. It struck him how late he was in realizing this.

Orion was sitting there, one hand resting on the arm of his chair, revealing a bit of his wrist adorned with a watch. He looked up, a touch of cool detachment in his gaze. Lucian took in the sight of the doctor, noticing the watch and feeling a surge of surprise.
