It felt like he was just a stranger!
Lemira turned and walked in the opposite direction, where Orion stood waiting quietly with a black umbrella in hand.
She quickened her pace towards him, looking at him, “Was it you who asked the principal to deliver the stationery to me p>
Orion, seeing the smile on her face, guessed she wasn’t too troubled by the whole mess. Hiding his irritation, he replied calmly, “Yeah.” “Thanks a lot, you’ve been a huge help p>
After saying this, Lemira patted her stomach, “I’m starving. Let’s grab some lunch. I’ve got to prep for the exam this afternoon p>
As Lemira got into the car, Lucian’s frantic voice came from outside, “Lemmy, where are you going? I need to talk to you p>
He held onto the car door, looking at Lemira inside with a hint of panic.
Lemira, expressionless, replied, “no need p>
“Lemmy, I really didn’t mean to be late p>
Her gaze was clear and direct, “I know. So, can you let go now p>
But Lucian didn’t let go. Or rather, he didn’t dare to.
He had a bad feeling, fearing that once he let go, Lemira would never come back.
Thaddeus couldn’t stand it anymore and stepped forward, grabbing Lucian by the collar, “Look, buddy, this isn’t cool p>
“I’m her brother. Is this fun for you?” Lucian lost control a bit.
Thaddeus snorted, “Never seen a brother who screws things up like you. The stationery was from you, and it just happened to break. Then you solemnly promised her to wait, only to be late. What kind of malicious thoughts does your family harbor?” Thaddeus had witnessed Lemira’s miserable days firsthand and couldn’t bear it any longer. It’s outrageous!
It was clear to anyone with eyes that the stationery couldn’t have just broken on its own!
Lucian was stunned, “I didn’t know p>
“If you didn’t know, then damn well find out! Harassing Lemon, forcing her to forgive you, what’s that about? I’m worried that this time it was the stationery, and next time it might be something wrong with the food, and she ends up sick during her exams p>
Thaddeus didn’t hold back in his rebuke.
Lucian was pushed aside, stumbling a bit as he watched Lemira drive away. He had lived for thirty years and for the first time, he felt panic.
Evelina came over, feigning concern, “Lucian, Lemmy is right to be angry, you really were late. But exams are important, you should let Lemmy stay at home p>
If Lemira left, how could she continue her plans?
Lucian suddenly felt desperate, his voice hoarse, “Where’s Zack, he was the one who prepared the stationery p>
He wanted to see why Lemira’s stationery had issues!
Evelina became tense instantly, “Lucian, why would you suspect Zack? My stationery was also from him, and there were no issues p>
But Lucian stood up with a stern face and walked away.
Evelina clenched her fingers tightly, immediately texting Zack. [Lucian is coming to check on you, be careful.] Though Lemira had left, the incident had affected her, surely her performance wouldn’t be as good now. From the looks of it, Lemira probably didn’t want to deal with Lucian anymore. Good.
Sitting in the car, Lemira watched the rain outside the window, now falling more gently. The car was quiet. Orion glanced at her, his voice calm, “Don’t let it affect you. For the next few days, don’t go back there.” Lemira nodded, “I was thinking the same. Staying in the apartment is less hassle p>
By the afternoon exam, the rain had stopped.
Lemira went to take the exam,
to take
finding the math problems
challenging but manageable.
Leaving the exam hall, she heard a
collective groan outside, everyone discussing how tough the math had
been..
As Lemira walked out of the school gates, she saw Lucian. She paused momentarily, then lowered her head and walked in the opposite direction. “Lemmy, I’ve brought Zack here to apologize to you p>
